The difference between China and the West on Internet

When I was in high school I always wonder why our government does not allow us to have access to western people on the Internet. I thought I was ridiculous and we should speak more to get involved in the rest of the world. You are also curious about it, right?

Right now, I’m studying abroad in London and trying to read some newspapers, like the Wall Street Journal, Daily Express, BBC, the Economists and so on. There are obviously some misunderstandings about my country which is acceptable as it is in our own media seeing the west. therefore, I wrote some comments to justify just like I did in my own country. You know what, I was besieged. And I kept listing some evidence showing that we are not evil and correcting the misunderstandings. You know what, they said they were tired of my propaganda. They are just teasing me. It’s not on youtube, but newspapers where should be critical readers instead of ignorant.

The situation in China is totally different as the people would be really warm and hospitable if a westerner comes up on the internet. Is it because of different cultures? Or the supervision of the network? You know, you cannot write words that insult others which will be deleted automatically. However, the people in real life are very kind in London so that’s really weird.

After those disaster experiences, I can understand why our government doesn’t allow us to surf on the outer Internet. It is because there are unimaginable hostile and hates that you could not tolerate.

And also, I must admit that some readers just tell what they know instead of showing an insult. I hope the world could be united and no one would hate each other anymore. I hope there will be real peace and no war anymore. I hope someday, no one would die in hate.
